Shootout is an on-chain fantasy football arena on Base. Every footballer, manager and official is a unique, always-for-sale 1-of-1 card. Here's the whole game, end to end.

The flywheel

One self-feeding loop of $SHOOT. It never stops turning.

Fees are the engine. The moment a bet settles, its 3% fee splits live - 1.5% rises to whoever holds the card and 1% into the prize pool (0.5% protocol, winners keep 97%). That payout is what makes owning the right card worth it - which pulls in the next player.

The cards

Footballers, managers, officials - each a 1-of-1. Tap a tier; rarity sets the floor + ETH entry fee.

Owning a card · Harberger

You set the price - and anyone can buy it from you at that price, any time. Drag to feel the trade-off.

Tax draglow

Balanced - deters snipers without torching tax.

The tax is on the card (~5%/matchday on its price), paid from a deposit you post - never on the $SHOOT you hold. Too cheap → you get sniped. Too dear → tax drag. Finding fair value is the game.

The one trick that matters
When you claim or snipe a card, set your own price as you buy. Leave it at the floor / the price you paid and the next person can snipe it right back at that price. Price higher to hold the card (higher price = more tax, but it's yours).

Earning yield

Holding a card can pay you three ways - all recycled value, never printed tokens.

Matchday yield

Your card earns when its player performs - goals, assists, saves, VAR.

Trading

Claim it underpriced, set your price - whoever takes it pays you.

Prediction royalties

1.5% of every bet placed on a card you hold. The flywheel's engine.

the engine
A quick example
  1. 1. Claim Harry Kane and set your price at 1,000 $SHOOT · deposit ≈ 200 · tax ≈ 50/match.
  2. 2. He's in form → reprice to 1,500 to scare off snipers.
  3. 3. He scores a brace → you earn +300 $SHOOT for holding him at kickoff.
  4. 4. Net: +30075 tax = +225 $SHOOT.

Predictions · the revenue engine

Call match outcomes on specific cards. The card's holder earns 1.5% of every bet - and our fee is a fraction of a sportsbook's.

These fees are the main flywheel revenue: they flow straight to card holders, making the right cards genuinely valuable. No one takes the other side? No contest - you're refunded in full at lock.

The $SHOOT token

$SHOOT is the only currency in Shootout - every action is paid in it: claiming cards (deposit locked), buyouts, repricing, predictions, and the card tax. More players and matches → more $SHOOT needed and locked.

$SHOOT itself is a plain token. No transfer tax, no mint, no burn - sending or holding it costs nothing. The taxes in Shootout are on owning and trading cards (the Harberger model), simply denominated in $SHOOT. You are never taxed for holding the token - only for holding a card at a price you set.

Fees & economics

Two principles: rewards come from play, not from printing - and every tax here is on card ownership and trades, never on the $SHOOT token itself.

A bet's 3% fee splits live - the rest stays with winners. Hover a slice.

Almost everything routes back to the people holding and playing.

Safety & FAQ

  • Only trust the official CA above. We never DM you first and never ask for seed phrases.
  • Your wallet must be on Base - the app prompts a switch when it isn't.
  • Yield is earned from real play and market activity; it is not guaranteed and varies with performance and tax collected. Not financial advice.
